Making Appointments

Appointments are required and can be made in person or by phoning the clinic during business hours. Time can be made available for emergencies or urgent appointments (e.g.PEP). Please let reception know if you require urgent medical attention.

SMS reminders are sent the day before to remind patients of their appointment. If you can’t keep your appointment please call the clinic to cancel or rebook.


Home Visits and After Hours Care

Home visits are available for regular patients of the practice who are unable to attend the centre because of their medical condition.   Hospital, hostel and nursing home visits may also be arranged.For medical attention after hours please call 9514 0888 and the call will be diverted to the locum service.   The practice provides 24 hour cover through the Melbourne Medical Deputising Service. The locum service is a separate entity to this clinic and has its own billing policy.


Fees and Billing Arrangements

Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, MasterCard, Visa or EFTPOS.   The AMA Fee structure forms the basis of our billing policy and is displayed in the reception area of the surgery.   If you have any difficulty in paying our fees, please discuss it with us.


It is the choice of providers at PMC to bulk bill

children under the age of 16,

people aged over 65,

students with current student cards,

patients with Health Care cards,

Pension cards,

Veteran Affairs cards

and the unemployed.


Patients wishing to have visits charged to a third party must provide a written authority   i.e. TAC or Work Cover Claim Number.   If you have a query about an account please discuss it with reception or the Practice Manager.  

Please ask reception if you require further information about the fee structure.


Referrals

Patients referred for pathology or X-ray tests or specialist opinions should be advised that there might be additional costs not covered by Medicare or Private Insurance.   Please check fees with the relevant provider.

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of PMC to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available authorised parties.


All Doctors and participate in regular training to ensure their skills are continually maintained and upgraded. PMC is a training practice and hosts medical students from The University of Melbourne and Monash University.
