Randomised study to determine whether immediate initiation of ART is superior to deferral of ART until the CD4+ declines below 350 in patients who are ARV naive with a CD4+ above 500.

Impact of HIV infection and treatment with highly active retroviral therapy on reverse cholesterol transport.

Inclusion criteria

1. •HIV positive
   

2. •Naïve to ARV therapy about to initiate PI therapy i.e. ARV naïve or NNRT-containing regimen and about to initiate PI containing regimen
   

Exclusion criteria

1. •Treatment with any forms of lipid lowering medication including fish oils
   

2. •BMI greater than 27
